Queensburgh News

Queensburg is located a stone-throw away from Durban, and sits just south-west of KZN’s most vibrant city. It forms part of eThekweni, the Greater Durban Metropolitan Area, and its genesis is found in colonial settlers who, as legend has it, wanted to escape Durban’s summer humidity. In 1924, the residential townships of Malvern, Escombe, Northdene and Moseley combined, and together became Malvern. To celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, however, Malvern changed name and was officially christened Queensburgh in 1952.

As a community newspaper that tasks itself with bringing its readers high quality and salient local news, features, interviews with local community members, and school happenings, the Queensburgh News is committed to achieving and maintaining the very best standards of journalistic excellence. Moreover, we are always ready to engage with our community and look forward to a continued relationship based on trust and respect.
