After a 10 year commute to Jozi to run NAB, and more recently SPARK Media, with Gill Randall, John Bowles has decided to settle more permanently in Cape Town. Bowles will be assisting SPARK Media and Caxton/CTP in the Cape region while at the same time launching his new business, Turn Left Media.

Bowles will relinquish his role as Chief Operating Officer at SPARK Media from July 2016 as he sets up his business and maintains key customer relationships for SPARK Media in the Cape.

“I’m very excited. It’s a superb opportunity to pursue my own venture but without letting go of the special relationship I have with Caxton/ CTP and their key customers!” says Bowles.

Bowles’ independent venture Turn Left Media will take over the digital sales responsibilities for LinkedIn in Sub-Sahara Africa. Together with the representation of The Washington Post, Turn Left Media will be positioning itself as a niche boutique sales house that delivers key audiences for businesses targeting the B2B and high-net-worth individual markets. For SPARK Media, its perfect timing as the experienced media sales house refocuses its efforts and attention on the retail sector – read more here.

Gill Randall, CEO of SPARK Media explains, “We’re obviously sad to not have John in JHB, but we’re also excited for him and his new venture at Turn Left Media. For SPARK Media it’s a wonderful opportunity to have John closer to our key customers in Cape Town. John has valuable knowledge and experience in the retail communication space. He has tons of insights into our ROOTS survey that he continues to share.”
